We invited for an interview: With Sunshine, Can Casar has just released his last release on WHITE ROOMS and strikes an unusually gentle note. In the interview, he reveals to us why he consciously stands out from the mainstream and which moment in his music career still occupies him today.

Wir haben zum Interview eingeladen: Can Casar hat mit Sunshine gerade sein letztes Release auf WHITE ROOMS veröffentlicht und schlägt dabei ungewohnt sanfte Töne an. Warum er sich bewusst vom Mainstream abhebt, und welcher Moment in seiner Musikkarriere ihn heute noch beschäftigt, verrät er uns im Interview.

What got you into music?
I discovered my passion for music when I was a child. I started playing drums when I was five. This talent resulted in a great love for music.
Was hat dich zur Musik gebracht?
Ich habe meine Leidenschaft  für die Musik bereits in der Kindheit entdeckt. Im Alter von fünf Jahren habe ich mit dem Schlagzeug spielen angefangen. Aus diesem Talent ist eine große Liebe zur Musik entstanden.

Who inspired you to make music?
Among others, I was inspired by artists as Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Monika Kruse and many more.
Wer hat dich inspiriert Musik zu machen?
Unter anderem wurde ich inspiriert von Künstlern wie Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Monika Kruse und vielen mehr.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I’d say that the focus in my music is often on the drum elements and the percussions. But I also like to try different things. For this reason I would describe my music as experimental but structured.
Wie würdest du die Musik beschreiben, die du normalerweise produzierst?
Ich würde sagen, dass der Fokus in meiner Musik oft auf den Schlagzeugelementen und den  Percussions  liegt. Aber ich probiere auch gerne verschiedene Sachen aus. Aus diesem Grund würde ich meine Musik als experimentell aber doch strukturiert bezeichnen.

What is your creative process like? Which tools (Software, Hardware) do you use?
Based on a rhythm or a melody for a new title, I try to generate a mood during the course of the production and to maintain it until the end. I work with Ableton Live as DAW.
Wie ist dein kreativer Prozessablauf? Welche Tools (Software, Hardware) nutzt du?
Ausgehend von einem Rhythmus oder einer Melodie zu einem neuen Titel versuche ich im Laufe der Produktion eine Stimmung zu generieren und diese bis zum Ende aufrecht zu erhalten. Ich arbeite mit Ableton Live als DAW. 

Which musicians or other producers do you admire? Do you have an idol?
I admire all artists who try to make music creatively. I’m not thrilled with producers who just chase the crowd. Music is so diverse that even artists who are not famous deserve attention. These are my idols!
Welche berühmten Musiker oder welche anderen Produzenten bewunderst du? Hast du ein Idol?
Ich bewundere alle Künstler die versuchen kreativ Musik zu gestalten. Ich bin nicht begeistert von Produzenten die einfach immer nur der Masse hinterher jagen. Musik ist so vielfältig, dass auch Künstler die nicht berühmt sind, Aufmerksamkeit verdienen. Das sind meine Idole!

What is the most success you achieved or is there any kind of special moment in your music career that still makes you smile today?
One of the greatest moments in my career so far has always been my appearance at U60311. That was a legendary evening for me. The very special moment I remember and that still makes me laugh today, is my performance with Thomas P Heckmann. That evening I played for 3 hours and apparently impressed Thomas so much that he stood behind me for 3 hours and I didn’t even notice.
War war dein größter Erfolg bislang oder gibt es einen besonderen Moment in deiner Musikkarriere, der dich heute immer noch zum Lächeln bringt?
Einer der größten Momente in meiner bisherigen Karriere war mein Auftritt im U60311. Das war ein legendärer Abend für mich. Welcher Moment mir bis heute in Erinnerung geblieben ist der mich heute noch zum Lachen bringt ist mein Auftritt mit Thomas P Heckmann. An diesem Abend habe ich 3 Stunden gespielt und scheinbar Thomas so beeindruckt dass er 3 Stunden hinter mir stand und es mir nicht mal aufgefallen ist.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?
As long as you do what you enjoy, everything you do is a success!
Was ist der beste Ratschlag, den du mal erhalten hast?
Solange du das machst was dir Spaß macht, ist alles was du machst ein Erfolg!

What’s next for you?
I’m currently working on the next tracks in Chillout and house.
